Friend 06/28/2021 (Mon) 12:29:36 No.896
Hello friends. Post something in this thread and I will say something nice about it. Forgive me if I don't check very often.
>>896 I got into a new job :D
>>897 Congratulations, friend! May it bring new faces and new opportunities to your life. Proud of you for getting hired.
Had a bad day at work, someone refused to help me saying she isn't responsible for it even though she is. It was a matter of a minute, looking something up I have no access to. I had to ask her superior, what made her mad. Someone else got angry at me too because I did something he should have done, but he didn't do it. Therefore I did it, but he said it is his task and I have no right to do it. Was in a very mad mood afterwards and did very little and poorly at work, still dragged myself to the gym though, even though I was tired, had no motivation at all and justed wanted the day to end. The workout went well and my mood improved because of that, afterwards I checked the websites I visit daily. Seeing this thread improved my mood further, it is a nice idea, op. Maybe this can be a very motivational thread for some people, posting what they have done today, want to do tomorrow, how they feel, what they think and giving some advice and kind words to it. Anyway love the picture you posted in the op, very cute and silly, made me laugh, thank you.

Watermelons? OK.
Open file (198.63 KB 150x250 manhuascan.gif)
>>902 Sounds like a frustrating day! I'm glad you still had the strength to go to the gym afterwards and pick your mood up again! I want to cultivate a healthier mindset and it begins with acknowledging good things. >>906 Watermelons are cute and tasty. I love the chibi faces.
>>931 Thank you. Beautiful places like this one and kind inhabitants like you help a lot. Appreciation is indeed important, I try to be more grateful too.
Watermelons will take over the world. They've already brought down a president during Watermelongate.
I've finally completed my Master's thesis, which is in a STEM field. Still a KV loner and about to turn 29 though.
>>948 Congrats on your Master's. You're still a Kelvin-Volt loner? Is this some new STEM slang?
>>949 Thanks. It means I'm about to become a Kind, Virtuous wizard.
>>948 Congrats Anon, you deserve applause with all the hard work I'm sure you had to put into it. Ever consider robotics? We could probably use your help.
>>951 >Kind, Virtuous I see, thanks. I learned something today. πŸ˜…

>>948 what did you study during your master's? also, if you're interested in retiring early, this may be of use to you: https://firecalc.com/ https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9519944-early-retirement-extreme
>>952 Thanks, friend. It was a hard time for sure. I'm into embedded software and electronics, which is sort of in that area. >We could propably use your help. You have a specific project in mind? >>956 Masters's was CS. My bachelor was EE. Don't think I'll aim for super early retirement since I place some value in the job itself. I'll rather see if I can eventually have shorter hours.
>>978 you should do machine learning and make a digital (girl)friend using neural networks and such so that I won't die alone
also I should mention, don't train it with real women because those things are awful and I wouldn't want to interact with those

>>979 I'm unconvinced there aren't already advanced AI's among us.
>>978 >You have a specific project in mind? Yes, robowaifus. You can find a link to us from the /kind/ friends page. https://kind.moe/.static/pages/links.html
Open file (832.86 KB 1237x695 moni.png)
>>979 Not much for machine learning personally, but that would be an interesting business model. I'm thinking sort of like how artists get comissions to draw people's waifus, but you get comissioned to develop custom AIs instead.
>>987 I like your dedication. I remember seeing robowaifu talk on another imageboard roughly a year ago. I hope you manage to create the wife of your dreams one day.
>>947 I don't like Watermelon wine too sweet for me, I don't really mind pineapple , banana or mango wine though. Maybe I am adding too much sugar though. This is the first fruit wine I am having trouble with
>>991 Thanks! I think all of us there want to create 'the wife of [our] dreams' for every man that would like one, not just ourselves. One thing I'm quite proud of our little band of cavaliers is a sense of service to others. Almost like a duty we feel. It's a neat group, and a lot like /kind/ in some ways. I'm glad we're friends here! :^)
>>992 So you have a sweet tooth, eh? I have a bad pun for that too: Q: What do you call an HIV-positive sugar daddy? A: Financial AIDS. And one for watermelons, since this is the watermelon thread: Q: What should you do when life gives you melons? A: Ask your doctor to check whether you're dyslexic.
>>896 friends... can you please say something nice to the girl in this picture here? i think she's lost... >>993 >every man that would like one i've always found /robowaifu/'s position on creating only waifus to be fairly odd. because if eventually, the creation of a robotic partner becomes possible within our lifetimes, such that a proper robowaifu becomes possible for "every man that would like one", then we can infer that advancements in robotics and automation at that point would affect everyone, and not just people from /robowaifu/. there are other important implications to this, but right now, bipedal balance seems surprisingly hard. also, in places like japan and south korea, where robots already play a large role in the economies, we're already seeing everyone embracing robotics as a way for societal and economic transformation, as well as human-robot (romantic) relationships.

>>1000 I get a grim feeling she was intended to stand on a different type of machine.. She's cute. I'm glad she's lost. >>996 >Q: What do you call an HIV-positive sugar daddy? >A: Financial AIDS. fufufu
>>1004 >P-please don't tell my dentist. OK, here we go: Q: What's the best time of day to go to the dentist? A: Tooth hurty. Q: What tourist attraction should you visit to keep your dentist happy? A: Mount Brushmore.
>>1019 Why would KAITO where a scarf to the beach?
>>1046 My impression is that it's a makeshift blindfold rather than a scarf, meant to keep him ignorant of his impending fate as a substitute watermelon.

>>1052 Oh my god. I just realized what Miku is doing. He's going to fucking die :((( Punishment for some unspeakable crime? Or just for their sick amusement?
>>1067 The tradition is to only hit the watermelon hard enough to crack it open slightly, not to smash it and waste it on the sand and ruin everyone's snack, so his life is not in danger since a skull is much more resistant and Miku is not evil. As for amusement, the only one misdirecting Miku is Len, Meiko is trying to warn Kaito and Rin/Luka are too busy flirting, so this is only Len's idea of a joke.

I tried growing watermelon this year, but there is a drought and I'm not sure how well that's going to work out. This thread now haunts me.
I hope you're doing very well today OP
>>1259 I'm sorry. That is unfortunate. We're growing squash at my place. They are pretty resistant to droughts. >>1262 You too, friend.
>>1259 Are you the watermelon anon from Sleepychan?
>>1259 Just a single experimental plant, a plot or a field?
Open file (191.78 KB 474x355 1098463574.png)
>>1263 >squash >resistant to droughts I've noticed this. Planted yellow and acorn squash too and they're doing OK, but the watermelon vines are a lot smaller then other years and some dried out and died back. >>1264 No, not that anon. But your question gave me a laugh because I have lurked in that thread. >>1265 I have a plot in my garden with 4 plants and a few more snuck into random flower beds as an experiment since I had more starter plants then the actual garden had room for. Been growing the miniature variety of watermelons that are bowling ball sized. I've grown them successfully before, but there has been record setting heat in my area along with a severe lack of rain.
The Tower of Pisa walks into a bar and orders a bottle of expensive watermelon wine >>992. Before serving it the bartender looks it over and sees it's shabbily dressed so he asks: "Do you have enough cash on you or money left in your bank account to pay for that?" The Tower of Pisa knows it's short on cash so it ponders the question for a moment, then answers: "Let me just check my balance."
